Giacomo Piazza

Born in Belluno – Dolomites Italy in 1989. Now I live in Austria since 2013, for 3 years I studied
Forestry in Vienna. 2 years ago I moved to Innsbruck where finally I got back to the mountain- life.
I did alpine-ski racing for many years, until I was 15, then I moved to Ski-mountaineering races where I felt more free and less stressed. Competitions allowed me to travel a lot in the Alps. Since 2011 I am a certified Ski-instructor and since then I worked every season, in Italy, Argentina and Austria.
Now I moved to free-ride competitions FWQ, but what I like the most is to climb up on the mountains and earn my turns on untouched faces or couloirs. This year 2018 I did a 4th place at the Pitztal Wild Face FWQ competition.
At the moment, after the instructor season, I am mostly out in ski-mountaineering especially in the Dolomites, where with a colleague of mine I am exploring new skiable lines in less- frequented areas of the region.
